It is great to see other people begin to have adventures in Al-Rathak. I loved the encounter with the sea turtle! It is also nice to see that the game is encouraging you to try things (and do things) in a different way than you might normally play. I look forward to the next installment.
I love this one, the setting is so vibrant and cool! The story already feels a little more optimistic than your other APs, so I’m interested to see where the story takes us!
I wanted a sense of urgency to get out on the water fast and imagined trouble with a faction could work. I rolled Ashen Dawn on the table Factions Table and went with it. I’m looking forward to see how that thread will work out.
I also agree that a similar initial adventure hook (Isle Of Black Palms) will lead our stories in very different ways!
No real critiques quite yet, but I will reflect on the gameplay as I go. I do think I should have opted for the book over the PDF (But most of my stuff is in PDF form so I am used to scrolling pages on a screen).
Man I wonder what that crew did to piss off the Ashen Dawn! They’re supposed to be the common worker’s faction…maybe they’re scabs working for some union-busting nobleman! 😂
Excited to see how it all plays out. In my Isles game it’s the Merchants guild that’s the main faction involved.
Ah! Pressure to have it make sense! (Kidding) I’ll have to have a long think on the “why” once that bridge needs crossing! The Merchants guild offers some cool possibilities with the funds behind them.
Yeah lol half the fun is figuring out how a faction is possibility involved in something lol. I’ve got a similar situation in the Anipsed city crawl as I gotta find the thread connecting the Order of the Blades to a jewel thieving group
Yes, so fun! Good luck with your thread connecting! I am looking forward to having characters get back to Anipsed to really get into the city crawl mechanics.

Thank you! There is a unique vibe to Al-Rathak.
How would you describe it?
Magic in the air, noble, more dreamlike than gritty, possibility of high adventure around every corner and a sense of wonder.
Correct!
I just got my copy and need to catch up on your play throughs to see how your story is evolving. On to chapter 2! 😊
Thank you! Yes, it’s a fantastic book. Lots of adventure inspiring content.

Yes, this one is more upbeat for sure. I am liking the vibe a lot!
This is great! Love the character and the sea turtle encounter.
Thank you!
Already a great story, love the inclusion of the giant turtle!
Thank you!
Awesome stuff!
Love how you handled the giant turtle encounter, so creative. Out of curiosity what prompted the Ashen Dawn’s involvement with the ship?
Excited to see what your Isle of Black Palms adventure ends up being, probably very different from mine! That’s the cool part of generative games :)
PS: Any critiques so far? I’m a fiend for user data.
