I was having such fun time playing The Immortal Seal by Mundos Infinitos that I decided to launch a pamphlet sized game. Two full pages seemed like a good way to get something out that I am proud of.

Like many of us here, I have dreamed of creating content and actually did create an adventure for the Knave 2e Adventure Game Jam called the Lonely Tower of Calthrop. That was released in October of 2024 for free and is still up on Itch.io. This was about when I was starting this blog of actual plays and was writing down ideas here and there for games thinking “someday”. The Lonely Tower of Calthrop was done with zero Publisher App know how. All cutting and pasting and drawing on printed pages with the words and scanning that.

Anyhow, I got excited by the concept of a pamphlet and took an online course at the beginning of this week (Affinity Publisher for Beginners by Affinity Revolution). It is well worth the price of about $30 and got me past the little I was able to gather from Youtube videos (which was not working).

I had the basic mechanics etc. and ran through some play throughs to iron out a few kinks and drew a cover that I am really happy with. After printing a final draft today, I was super excited and just had to put it out there!

This is a game made by a Dark Souls fan for anyone - but I think it might hit hard for other Dark Souls fans. It channels the spirit of the Souls games where you take on the role of an Invader.

The pitch:

“Join a Dark Covenant and Invade the worlds of other dregs. Engage your target before they flee in fear or challenge their Boss. Take trophies and increase your rank in your Dark Covenant.

Perform a Dark Ritual to begin your hunt. Targets may Summon help, choose to duel or even lie in wait as a Gank Squad.

Tables to create Lore and Curios with item descriptions.

Increase your Covenant Rank enough to challenge your Patron and become more than a mere dreg.”
